Women Empowerment
Global Orphanage Trust recognised the need to support women in the community. The aim of this project is to teach basic sewing skills to women. This enables them to work from home, within the project or even go into the market place to find work. We have employed tailors to train these women and show them how to make items such as handbags, laptop cases, wallets, scarves and folders. They are all paid a fair wage and set their own prices for the products. This project continues to have a very strong impact on the local community and all the ladies involved.
